I'm not just going to let him bully me or anyone else just days before the Texas house members elect their next Speaker of the House Republican Cody Harris says the GOP chair Abraham George is making illegal attempts to sway the election representative Harris accuses George of attempting to influence harrises and other Republicans votes he includes alleged text messages in which Abraham George is reaching out to Harris and writing before the Republican party of Texas sends any direct mail into your District I wanted an opportunity to personally connect about your public position on the speaker's race Harris allegedly replies Abraham it would be great if you spent even half as much of the effort and money trying to beat Democrats in general elections as you are engaging in the Republican speakers race George then allegedly replies good to know see you on the other side in a statement George does say in part I hope that the Texas ethics commission will do the right thing and reject this baseless complaint Harris also takes issue with a recent new rule from the GOP which could mean that Republicans who vote for Dustin burrow a bipartisan pick over David Cook the official Republican pick could be kicked off the Republican ballot
